About the painting
This is my largest canvas painting so far and is part of my series of paintings of Jesus. After painting him on the cross, I wanted to return to peace and serenity, with this painting of Jesus walking on water. Reminding us of his supernatural, calming power. When we look to Him, He brings us peace that transcends all understanding. The storm we may have just felt passes in His presence and He is walking out onto a calm, flat sea, into a sunrise that shows a new day is dawning. One that is full of hope and optimism, as the darkness passes into light. There is no obvious horizon, as we ourselves cannot see the future, as He does. But when we trust in Him and know that he goes before us, he can calmly lead us to a better place, where no other man can walk, protecting us from the deep waters below.
