My Story

Creation is not just something I do; it is who I am.

I have always been creative. It is a calling that was woven into me from before I was born. It runs through my family history and surges through my veins. I believe the gifts from God are alive within us and all around us, and I feel most alive when I am creating.

For many years, I poured this creative energy into the commercial world as a Creative Director. However, ten years ago, my life changed completely when my wife passed away. I chose to leave the design industry behind to become a dedicated single parent, building a lifestyle centred around my family. Focusing on healing and rebuilding, I began a new and humbler life, a way of living that truly suits me and feels like what I was made for.

Commercial Creative History

Before stepping away from the design industry to focus on my family, I spent over fifteen years working as a digital Creative Director and strategist in London. During that time, the projects I worked on received industry recognition, including a Gold Campaign Big Award, a Bronze Cannes Cyberlion, FWA Site of the Day, DMA Silver Awards and NMA Effectiveness Awards.

A Return to the Canvas

While I have always loved to draw, my return to painting began unexpectedly in late 2025 when I was commissioned to paint a depiction of St. Francis of Assisi for a primary school, a project that reawakened a lifelong desire to create unique, original artwork in paint.

So I cleared out my mums garage and set up an Art Studio, with black drapes and a daylight light, I taught myself to mix colours and challenge myself, by working from a limited oil paint palette. Since that pivotal commission, I have created 20 paintings. My work is varied and exploratory; I don't confine myself to one subject. Instead, I move between portraits, expansive landscapes, and close-up studies of fruit and flowers. Every canvas is a fresh experiment, and every day in the studio is an exciting new challenge to create and compose.

Faith, Photography, and Modern Tools

My process is a blend of my life experiences and my faith in God. Having travelled extensively, I frequently use my own photography collection for composition and reference, whilst also taking new photographs and improving my photography. Working from a shed in the back garden.

The Garden studio

Alongside traditional oil techniques, I also utilize AI and Adobe Photoshop tools to help envision and create completely original images.

My process

I paint in oils on canvas, working from photographs I have taken myself, or from studies in nature. For my Christian Art paintings, I also use AI-generated imagery as a reference source — it is royalty free and allows me to create historically accurate depictions of biblical figures and scenes that would otherwise be impossible to photograph. These references are then refined in Photoshop before I begin my final drawings and painting process. Each painting, regardless of its reference source, is an entirely original, hand-painted work.

I am guided by God, inspired by His Word, and moved by His works. The world is infinitely more beautiful when seen through His eyes. For me, the ultimate purpose of this creative journey is about turning pain into beauty, transformation, and growth. So my own tests can become my testimony and the fruit I bear for the world.

My garden studio, where I create

I am led by what I see, feel, and understand of the ever changing world. Because God created all things, the field is wide open for exploration and study. I am just starting out on this specific journey, yet I am aware that a lifetime of preparation has gone into every single brushstroke.

Each painting is signed on completion and includes a Certificate of Authenticity with every purchase.
