About the painting
This is my first ever painting of Jesus and shows his devotion to His father. It is purposefully colourful, whilst he remains calm and centred in his internal conversation. Much like me, he often retreated to the mountains to pray to His father, to connect and receive guidance. It is a testament to his endurance, suffering for mankind and praying for their redemption. Jesus is seen here seated and restful in prayer on top of a mountain, away from the noise of the world and physically closer to God. There is a slight wind blowing his hair back to reveal his face, which is calm and at peace. The setting sun forms a halo around his head, as he is also lit by his own light, as he is the light and saviour. The red landscape represents the holy blood that he will spill to save us all, as he was aware of his own suffering and the sacrifices he must make to save us.
As we pray, it opens our hearts to also connect with the Father and create our own unique relationship with Him.

If you prefer a framed look, it is perfectly suited for a standard canvas float frame, which can be easily fitted by any local high-street framer. The D-rings can be unscrewed for the purpose of framing.
