About the painting
This is the second in a series of paintings I felt called to create, of a historically accurate Jesus Christ, based on historical data. Painted as if you came across Him on the road to somewhere else, between 2 destinations, it is a moment of transition, or redirection. It is a warm invitation to walk with him in trust, as your companion and guide. Calmly inviting you to follow him with an outstretched hand and open palm. For without Jesus and his teaching, we are lost souls and live a life away from his calling.
In the Gospels, Jesus invites people to "follow me" over 20 times. It is an active call to walk in His ways, learn His teachings, and make His mission of love, service and sacrifice your own. When Jesus called His first disciples (like Peter and Matthew), they left their nets and tax booths to physically walk with Him. And so we are all invited to follow Jesus, to live a better life, to learn from him and understand what he has called us to do.
Ready to Hang
As framing is a personal choice, please note that all paintings are sold and shipped as unframed, as standard shipping practice for Painted canvases.
This painting features a 2cm gallery-wrap profile and arrives ready to hang, unframed with D-rings and high-quality picture wire on the back of the wooden stretcher bars. The edges are cleanly hand-painted, arriving completely ready to hang on your wall, without a frame.
Framing
If you prefer a framed look, it is perfectly suited for a standard 35 x 45cm (13 ¾" x 17 ¾") canvas float frame, which can be easily fitted by any local high-street framer. The D-rings can be unscrewed for the purpose of framing.
