He is the sacrificial lamb, who did what no one else could, dying voluntarily to redeem us all. In this painting, I wanted Jesus to resemble the image on the Shroud of Turin, the closest reference we have to Him.

I also realise now that I am the sheep that was once lost. I finally heard His call in the darkness and we were reunited. He holds me close, protects and comforts me, as He does for all who are found by Him. When we stay close to Him, held by Him and surrounded by His light and tender love, we can trust in His unconditional love.

Artwork details

Size: 50 × 60 cm (20" × 24")

Canvas depth: 2cm (0.79")

Medium: Oil paint

Surface: Linen-treated canvas

Date of creation: 9 May 2026

Varnish: Gamblin Gamvar Satin varnish (12 September 2026)

Ready to Hang

As framing is a personal choice, please note that all paintings are sold and shipped as unframed, as standard shipping practice for Painted canvases.

This painting features a 2cm gallery-wrap profile and arrives ready to hang, unframed with D-rings and high-quality picture wire on the back of the wooden stretcher bars.
