It is from a photograph I took of an apple tree in blossom in the spring time of 2025, in Patcham in Brighton, where we live. I loved the colours and composition, as the sun shone through the canopy, each flower is reaching for the light. Springtime blossom feels like the reward for enduring the winter transition. As the weather gets warmer, the fruit trees burst into blossom with flowers, it fills the air with scent and colour. To me this is a beautiful demonstration of Gods eternal blessings, as new life bounds forth in springtime, full of optimism and hope for the days ahead. Just as each life has its own seasons, if we just look up and take the time to notice the beauty all around us and that change and growth is part of every life.

The artistic style of this botanical painting is Classical Impressionistic Realism.

Artwork details

Size: 25 x 20 cm (10" x 8 ")

Canvas board depth: 3mm (1/8")

Medium: Oil paint

Surface: Canvas board

Date of creation: 28th December 2025

Varnish: Gamblin Gamvar Satin varnish (12 Sept 2026)

Table top easel supplied

As a one off piece I would like to include the table top easel (pictured) as part of the sale, to be shipped with this small canvas painting study, which is ideal for any desk, or shelf at home, or in your office.

Framing

If you prefer to hang the painting, then any small standard frame, will work, for this canvas board 25 x 20 cm (10" x 8") with a depth of 3mm (1/8"). As framing is a personal choice, please note that all paintings are sold and shipped as unframed.

Reference images

From an original photograph, taken by Martin Buckwell in May 2025.

Included with purchase

Certificate of Authenticity available with purchase.

Statement of usage

Original artwork, created for sale by the artist.

The Artist reserves the right to make copies of the original.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0976/7609/9908/files/Tree_Blossom_painting25x20cm_b27ac834-b192-41d0-9fcb-9e7c90398423.jpg?v=1790171478
beachy-head
Beachy Head

Part of a series of original paintings of views around East Sussex, where I live, this painting depicts the Beachy Head Lighthouse, a famous operational landmark situated at the foot of Britain's highest chalk sea cliff near Eastbourne in East Sussex. I love the blue of the flowers and the overall natural composition of the small flowers. The shape of the branch at the bottom reminds me of hands in prayer, offering up the delicate flowers to be admired and enjoyed, as if cradling the petals as an offering of love and hope. The centre of each flower looks like a sun burst. As their name suggests, they do not last for very long, so I wanted to paint them as they can remain for longer and we do not forget the beauty of nature and Gods creation.
